How to use it
1. Choose your file. 2. The tool draws how loud your recording is. The yellow line is the threshold: everything under it counts as silence and turns red. It sets the line for you, and you can drag it. 3. Pick a style, or set the numbers yourself. 4. Press Play result to hear it, then Download.
What the settings mean
Cut silences longer than: short pauses between words stay. Only quiet stretches longer than this are cut. Ignore sounds shorter than: a tiny click or tap inside a silence is not speech, so it is cut with the silence. Keep before / after each word: a little room is kept around speech, so the start and end of words are not clipped. Fade at each cut: a tiny fade so there is no click where two parts are joined.
Questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is opened and changed inside your browser, on your own device. Nothing is sent to SoundZapp or anyone else.
Can I use a video?
You can open a video file, but only its sound is cleaned, and you download the cleaned sound as a WAV file. The video itself is not cut.
Why is the download a WAV?
WAV keeps the full quality and works in every editor, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve and CapCut. It is a bigger file than an MP3.
It cut a soft word. What now?
Move the threshold line down a little, or raise "Keep before / after each word". You can listen with Play result before you download.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, on a recent phone browser. For long files a computer is faster.
